âHurry Up!â âSlow Down!â These are words that children hear every day. We may not hear the clocks ticking, but from morning to bedtime, they go on, relentlessly, making us rush or wait, even when we donât feel like it. Sometimes, we need time to stop so that we can appreciate those around us. -
âIf you appreciate mesmerising, poetic writing that hits an emotional punch, go for this book. (Yep, even adults.)âŠI love the way Hurry Up, Slow Down is presented. Cursive penmanship is a dying art. Itâs comforting to see it making a comeback. Not only is the premise entertaining, but engaging too. The illustrations are simple and provoking. Hurry Up, Slow Down is a walking testament that less is sometimes more. It has one of the rarest beautiful writing Iâve ever seen in childrenâs books. The first sentence is epic: Outside, time passes through a machine that counts the seconds and marks the days without mistakes. 5/5.â
âPriscilla Tan, Priscilla and her BooksâHurry Up, Slow Down from Portugal is about the mixed messages children receive about timeâhurry up for school but eat breakfast slowly, for example...Perfect for a bedtime or afternoon read with young people.â
