āLetās draw! Singaporeā is an initiative to record Singaporeās neighbourhoods by compiling artworks from 61 contributors. Three sketchbooks were circulated amongst participating artists where each person has one week to sketch a personal experience of their choice before passing the sketchbook to another contributor. In this manner, the sketchbooks travelled all over our sunny island for 9 months, much like a relay event. These artworks will take us through our neighbourhoods where we live, work or grew up and relate stories that can be mindless reminiscence or simply heartwarming; but most important of all, the stories remind us of who we are, where we live, what we did growing up and how we continue to live our lives today. The collection of artworks in the book will become collective memories that help to reaffirm our roots in the land we call home.
