Ripple Effect (Book 3)

  • Description
  • About the Author & Illustrator
  • Ripple Effect is a powerful story about resilience, rivalry, and rediscovery when life changes the rules of the game.

Yuna won the biggest race of her life.
    Moments later, everything changed.

Twelve-year-old Yuna Chong set her new personal best at the championship she trained so hard for—then collapsed without warning. The victory revealed a life-changing diagnosis: Type 1 Diabetes.

A year later, her family has relocated, and Yuna is starting over with a new school, new classmates, and a body playing by different rules. Between strict teachers, curious whispers, and a swim team captain who sees her as a threat, she has more to prove than ever.

The water is still where she shines. With every lap, Yuna fights to find her rhythm again, balance friendship with fierce competition, and show Southsea she’s more than her diagnosis.

    Formatted in Legible:
Dyslexia-friendly and low-vision-aware, so everyone can enjoy the reading experience.

  • Leanne Teo is a sports-loving mother and writer from Singapore. Inspired by her family’s daily life of school runs, sideline cheers, and the joyful chaos of junior sports, she created The Southsea School Squads to shine a light on the everyday triumphs and struggles of young athletes.

Beyond writing, Leanne has led brand and campaign strategy across both corporate and government sectors. She is also an active volunteer for several non-profit organisations, supporting sustainable development and contributing to community initiatives that help underprivileged children.

She brings the same mix of heart, humour, and hustle into every story she tells, guided by the belief at the core of this series: that stories and communities can change lives for the better.

Jo Yee Leong is a Malaysian illustrator with a passion for vibrant colours and petting every cat she sees. Drawing inspiration from everyday life and objects around her, she loves drawing them with a playful twist that tells a story. Currently, she freelances, working on exciting projects for various brands in advertising and beyond.
