Chan Li Shan believes in the power of stories to heal and inspire. She is a PhD student at the University of Hawaiâi at Manoa, where she has been awarded the Biography Prize for her work on Lee Wen. Her memoir A Philosopherâs Madness was published in 2012. Her writings have appeared in The Straits Times and The Business Times, as well as publications of Ethos Books and Grey Projects. In 2018, she was Director of the Writing Center and Writing Residency Fellow at the Asian University for Women in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Yellow Man is her first childrenâs picture book.
Weng Pixin grew up listening to stories by her father that reflected his curious nature. When Pixin began making art, she wanted to express that same curious nature in her work. She chose to become an artist and art teacher. She has taught comic workshops at LASALLE College of the Arts and the National Library Board. She has presented her works at the 2019 and 2020 Singapore Writers Festival as well as in artist residencies in Argentina (La Plata and Buenos Aires) and Riga, Latvia. She is the author and illustrator of Sweet Time and Letâs Not Talk Anymore, published by Montrealâs Drawn & Quarterly.
